Classroom-based research is something that occurs every single time a teacher conducts a class. Often teachers will adapt a lesson and improve it based on observations and feedback they get form their students. This has actually been developed into a form of research and goes by the name of action research.

Research forms an integral part of the education process as by doing it we are able to show evidence that certain approaches work and are effective. Although research sounds like a complex and lengthy process, it can aid teachers in improving their practice. Furthermore, what is learned from the research process can then be shared with other teachers for use in their own classrooms.
